Disneyland Trip 2018

Have you dreamed of performing in a Disneyland Parade down Main Street U.S.A.?

We are excited to announce that Creator’s Arts Centre will be travelling to Disneyland December 7-9th 2018 to be a part of Disney’s Performing Arts Program. Specifically, their “Merry Holiday Parade” program. This program is open to all dancers enrolled at Creator’s Arts Centre during the 2018.19 season.

This opportunity holds the potential for amazing growth for your child both in their dancing, performance skills and in their character development. This is a great opportunity for the dancer who desires to feel like a part of  a “team” — building relationships, working together to achieve their goals and experiencing together the thrill of performing with other dancers from around the world.

Dancers in this program will have a set amount of rehearsal hours ( approx 6 hrs) starting in the Fall of 2018 and are expected to also rehearse the parade choreography at home.  Participants must be enrolled in at least one class at Creator’s Arts Centre in the 2018.19 dance season.  As Disney holds a high level of professional standards, Creator’s Arts Centre reserves the right to make a recommendation that a child not participate if these technical and behavioral standards are not met.

Applications are available in the office. A teacher’s recommendation and a $100 USD deposit is required to secure your spot. (This deposit will go towards your event fees and is non-refundable) Space will be limited so get your name on the list early! The earlier you sign up the earlier you can start fundraising!

Participation Requirements

· 2 Parades: Ages 7 & up.  All dancers must be fully available all day on event days
· All Dancers must purchase a ticket for each day you participate in an event with Dance the Magic. (Included in your Performer Package)
· Disney Annual Passports do not apply for dancers

Dance the Magic Dance Camps – Ages 8+

Location: Backstage at Disneyland
An exclusive sneak peek into the world of a Disney performer! Learn from the best! Dancers will work with Disney teaching artists to enhance their performance abilities as well as boosting their technique in a fun and friendly atmosphere! After the workshops are complete, there will be a Q & A where dancers can ask the teaching artists about their experience in the dance industry!

Financial Commitment

Each family will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs. We desire this to be a family event, however if your family is not able to attend consider asking another family if your child can travel with them. Disney will provide us with discounts on room rates at selected hotels at approx. 40% off the regular rate, as well as discounted Disneyland passes for family members.

Approx. costs that will be payable to Disney’s “Dance the Magic” will be determined soon. This will include their Park Hopper pass, dance camp, DVD, photo, and parade rehearsals. Final Payment to Disney will be due in US dollars.

An additional cost payable to “Creator’s Arts Centre” of $230.00 CAD per dancer will be due in the Spring. This will include in-studio parade rehearsal costs, a parade costume, a Creator’s Arts Centre branded team t-shirt and admin related costs.

Fundraising Opportunities

It is our desire that finances are not a barrier for a dancer to participate, which is why we are announcing this trip early. If dancers are willing to fund raise then they should be able to cover most of their non travel related costs.  Make it your goal to raise $1000.00 over the next 18 months.  Our fundraisers will include door-to-door chocolate selling, bagging groceries, bottle drives, BINGO night, selling poinsettias  and perhaps even hosting a dance-a-thon.   We are looking for families to assist us in setting up fundraising events. Please contact the office if you are interested or have any ideas for a great fundraiser. We will keep all fundraising money raised in a bank account and write you a cheque when you  request it.
