BACK STAGE ETIQUETTE FOR ALL DANCERS AND VOLUNTEERS
When do I arrive & where do I go?
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time, unless otherwise instructed, to allow yourself enough time to settle in. Please arrive and depart through the back stage door. It is clearly labelled at the rear of the theatre facing the parking lot.
Volunteer Arrival Times; Rehearsal- 4:00pm, Matinee-11:45pm, Evening 4:45pm
Policy on food or drink back stage
Spilling can result in ruined costumes and sets. Water bottles are ok. If you or a child must eat, please do not eat in or around any costumes. Non-messy foods such as crackers & cheese are ok. No nut products as we have staff and dancers who are severely allergic.
As soon as you know you cannot attend rehearsal-you must contact the office. Our show depends upon the talents of many people. We will try to cover your responsibilities.
Please check in with Kim or Laura before leaving and inform them of any issues that occurred during your shift
You may be scheduled for a specific time slot, but the Director may decide to run some of your dance pieces over. Please do not dismiss your group of dancers until told to do so.
Please don’t hang in the wings watching the show
Backstage space is pretty cramped and the crew needs space to work in. Things move very quickly backstage. We appreciate your cooperation with this.
Please no friends or family backstage or in the dressing rooms
One female adult may accompany their young dancer if needed to assist them get into their first costume, but please no males including Dads and male siblings. Extra people will be respectfully asked to leave.

CLASS MOM ROLE DESCRIPTION & TRAINING DATES
Class moms will be in charge of one class of dancers while they are in the backstage rooms. This can involve anything from solving last minute costume issues to taking them to the washroom. You will need to keep an eye on the schedule and be ready and waiting for when your class is called onto the stage by the runners. You will walk with your class to the side stage and hand them off to the backstage assistants who will line them up in the wings. Then, you will walk the children back to the Rehearsal Hall when they are finished performing and usher any children to the quick change area.
In order to answer your questions and to give you an overview of your role before the dress rehearsal we will be holding class mom’s information meetings during the following blocking times. You have three times to choose from (you only need to come to one of these times.) These meetings will be held at the Kelowna Community Theatre outside the back door. If for some reason you are not able to make one of these times, please call Kim Denis to make alternate arrangements at 250-866-6616.

**ALL class moms are required to assist at the Dress Rehearsal on Friday, May 26th from 4:00-9:00 (If your dancers are only in the 1st Act then you may be able to leave around 7pm)
