Lyrical

One of the newest forms of dance, Lyrical has become increasingly popular over the past several years. At Creator’s Arts Centre we work with the best instructors to teach lyrical dance to Okanagan dancers.

Most often associated with dance-based televisions series like ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, Lyrical dance is a fusion of ballet, jazz and contemporary dance techniques. As indicated by its name, Lyrical is performed to music with lyrics and utilizes the words to inspire movement and express strong emotions. This style often utilizes contemporary rock, pop, folk, and other musical styles, making it a popular choice for students of all ages.

Note: As Lyrical is a hybrid style, dancers must be enrolled in either Jazz or Ballet to register for this class.
