Tap

Often associated with Hollywood’s golden age and the likes of Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly, tap dance is an American dance form that involves rapid foot-tapping movement. Special shoes with metal plates create a distinctive sound while dancing, allowing the dancer to become an instrument and contribute to the dance in a whole new way. Thanks to films like ‘La La Land’, tap dance is seeing a resurgence in popularity and is a great dance form for those with a lot of energy or who are seeking some additional focus.

High-energy and upbeat, this class is highly recommended for students looking to make some noise! Students will also improve their musicality, performance skills and expand their movement vocabulary. Dancers level III and up are automatically entered into our competitive program and will compete their work at a minimum of two local festivals (additional fees apply).
