LAUREN VOROS

 As a new and dedicated dance educator, Miss Lauren brings a wealth of experience and passion to her role at Creator's Arts Centre. A proud graduate of Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, Lauren is excited to share her love for dance and contribute to the vibrant arts community on the unceded territory of the Okanagan/Syilx people.

Lauren's journey in dance began at the prestigious Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, where she honed her skills and received recognition for both her dancing and choreographic talents. Her extensive training includes full scholarships at the American Academy of Ballet and Canada's National Ballet School, acceptance into RWBs Aspirant Program as well as the Post Secondary Program at Arts Umbrella in Vancouver, fostering a deep understanding of classical ballet and contemporary dance.

Transitioning from a career as a professional dancer, Lauren found her vocation in teaching. Lauren's commitment to excellence is evident in her role at CAC, guiding students through the nuances of R.A.D ballet, jazz, and modern dance with a focus on technique and aiding dancers in finding their own unique artistic expression.

Lauren finds being a teacher to be a deeply fulfilling journey. It provides her with the opportunity to channel her love for artistic expression into a purposeful endeavor, guiding students in unlocking their creative potential. Having once walked in their footsteps, Lauren understands the transformative power of mentorship and the impact it can have on shaping one's path. Teaching, in Lauren's perspective, is more than imparting knowledge; it's about fostering mindfulness, encouraging a holistic approach to education that nurtures both the mind and the soul. As a teacher, Lauren is able to share her passion,inspire young minds, and contribute to a collective journey of exploration and self-discovery.

Having encountered personal challenges, including undergoing open-heart surgery in 2020, Lauren views dance as a powerful tool for overcoming seemingly impossible obstacles. Her journey from student to professional dancer, and now to a dedicated teacher, exemplifies the power of determination and passion. Nothing is unachievable, and Lauren encourages her students to embrace challenges and strive for their goals.

Inspired by a teacher who challenged her limits, Lauren emphasizes the value of pushing beyond perceived boundaries. Her teaching philosophy encourages students to believe in their potential and pursue their aspirations, even when faced with doubts. “Sometimes your mind can be your greatest barrier to achieving success”.
